Symptom / Need

New users of Wolkvox CRM may feel overwhelmed when trying to understand how to manage tokens within the platform. Knowing how to access the token management section and understanding the different types of tokens available is essential to using them effectively.

Context / Scenario

  • New users who need to set up and manage tokens for the first time.
  • Existing users who want to refresh their knowledge of token management.
  • Administrators who need to understand the different types of tokens to assign appropriate permissions.

Answer (Solution / Recommendation)

Access to the Token Management Section

To access the token management section in Wolkvox CRM, follow these steps:

  • Log in to your Wolkvox CRM account.
  • Navigate to the Settings menu located on the left panel of the screen.
  • Select the "Wolkvox Integration" option from the drop-down menu.
  • Click "Tokens" to access the token management section.

Understanding Token Types

In Wolkvox CRM, there are two main types of tokens, each with its own use cases and features:

  1. Internal Tokens
    1. Description: Internal tokens allow access to all CRM platform API processes.
    2. Use: They are ideal for internal operations and general access to Wolkvox CRM APIs.
    3. Creation:
      • Click "Add Token."
      • Write a representative name for the token.
      • Select "Internal" as the token type.
      • Confirm the creation of the token by clicking "Confirm."
  2. External Tokens
    1. Description: External tokens are designed to access specific APIs dedicated to specific clients through the business module.
    2. Usage: Currently, these tokens are only usable for the Query Case Note History API.
    3. Creation:
      • Click "Add Token."
      • Enter a name for the token.
      • Select "External" as the token type.
      • Use the magnifying glass icon to search for and select the company associated with the token.
      • Confirm the creation of the token by clicking "Confirm."

Additional considerations

  • Security: Tokens are hidden by default for security reasons. Use the eye icon to view the full token when needed.
  • Limitations: It's not possible to edit the name or type of a token once it's created. Make sure the information provided during token creation is correct.
